There's a smell of flowers in the air and a promise of good food to come in the garden. This is a great time of year. It's the first day of summer in 2009 and the sun is shining in Washington. We on the west side of the mountains love to see it's smiling face. I had a jacket on yesterday with the evening breeze blowing across our farm. Today it's warm enough for shorts and sleeveless tops. I think there is no better place to live than the Pacific Northwest.
Blogging is new to me but writing is not. I haven't done much of it recently and I want to fix that. I read somewhere that blogging could be a way to cheer up. It gets what's on your mind on the page for better or worse, and this is better than keeping it all in.
I used to read books in hand turning pages but these days I listen to many more books and use my hands for beading or painting. Creating and consuming a creation of some one's at the same time is a good vibe thing to do. I belong to http://www.audible.com/ and have collected 184 books in the last year and a half. Audio books go well with long trips in the car or an hour on a treadmill. I like music better for exercising because of the beat that gets you going. "It's all good!" as my friend Nubs used to say. He still would be saying it if some low-life had not murdered him and threw him off a bridge. What goes around ..... I can only hope.
Back to summer, I am loving it!
We went to West Port for a fishing trip with the children and oldest Grandson, Jacob. He caught the biggest fish of the day. No one got sick and all had a good time of it. We have good fresh fish to go with all the good veggies we are going to get from the garden.
One of my favorites is fresh strawberries, so full of flavor it waters my mouth to thinkk of it. My favorite veggie is zucchini steamed with butter salt and pepper. mmmm good, aaaahhhhh SUMMER!
